Travelling Chef, Micronesia

1. Name

Elizabethe Branstetter.

2. Where is your hometown, country?

I moved very often as a young adult so I don't really have a hometown. Home is where ever my parents live, currently Calistoga, California, USA.

3. What is your profession/career/title/self-label/designation?

Chef.

4. What was the journey like to get where you are (career wise)?

I am one of the lucky ones, I knew my path from an early age, and had parents that supported my endeavors.

5. When was the mental shift to start the journey?

I turned to private cooking after meeting a private chef at an event while I was an apprentice; who talked of traveling with his client and I was hooked on the idea. I could combine all my loves: cooking, travel and adventure.

6. Biggest accomplishment? (Any stories you want to note?)

hmmmm, personal or professional?

7. What was biggest disappointment and plan to overcome it? (Any stories you want to note?)

Working privately eats up personal time, I didn't realize going into the culinary field would limit my personal life to such an extreme.

8. Advice for other women?

Don't listen to the boys. Head up, ears open, eyes forward.

9. Where in the world do you feel “tallest”?

Right after a chiropractor appointment. Lol

10. What is the future goal/challenge (career goals in 5-10 years)?

Figure out where to build a guest house/cooking school, so I can retire from working for others.

11. What fears are you still hoping to overcome?

I see fear as a lack of love, learn why you fear then learn to love that fear, voila it's gone That being said I am still working on feeling accepted by others, left over from a childhood of constant moving and making “new friends” again and again. In a nut shell being lonely in my old age.

12. What inspires you?

Today it was fresh cherries, tomorrow it could be seeing another person succeed.

13. Would you do anything differently if you had to do it all over?

No regrets.

14. Who is a “WOW Woman” in your life who inspires you (and why)?

Susan, a fellow chef and good friend, she is always up beat, open, friendly and involved. When times seem tough I channel her and ask myself what would Susan do?

15. Where can others find you/your work (links to websites, blogs, etc.)?

Instagram: privatechefeliza or book me for your next party!
